Donnelly, Idaho

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Anthony James Blackburn, affectionately known to family and friends as AJ or JJ. Born on February 12, 2010, in North Carolina, and raised in Idaho, Anthony was just 15 years old when he was taken from us far too soon. His life was filled with love, adventure, and creativity, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Anthony was a passionate and creative soul, who embraced life with boundless energy and joy. Whether he was expressing his creativity through art, skiing down snowy slopes, or spending time with loved ones camping, swimming at the lake, or climbing trees, Anthony lived every moment to the fullest. His love for art allowed him to share his beautiful perspective with the world, creating pieces that will be cherished forever. His love for sports, particularly baseball, was another defining part of who he was, and he played with the enthusiasm and heart that inspired everyone around him.

Anthony was a young man full of warmth and kindness, always ready to share a laugh, offer a helping hand, or listen with an open heart. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen and appreciated. His loyalty to his family and friends, and his fierce love for those close to him, was evident in everything he did. Anthony’s infectious smile, playful spirit, and generous soul will be forever missed.

Anthony is survived by his father, Nicholas “Nick” Blackburn; mother, Misty Blackburn; siblings, Kelli Moss, Kylee Blackburn, Zachary Blackburn, Cody Blackburn, and Quinncy Parker; as well as many great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family. He is preceded in death by William (Bill) Kowalski “Papa Bill,” Rosalind Ray Sexton (Parker), Alzora Nanette Timmons (Parker), and Nita Nanette Jackson (Timmons).

Though his time with us was far too brief, we find solace in the memories he leaves behind—the artwork he created, the baseball games he played, the joy he brought to our lives, and the love that will continue to fill our hearts.

Please join Anthony’s family for a Celebration of his life this Saturday, September 6th, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. in Ponderosa State Park, please wear green as this was Anthony’s favorite color.

Rest in peace, Anthony. Your light will forever shine, and you will always be remembered with love and gratitude.
