Don Nelson

Don Nelson1952 ~ 2013Don Nelson, 61, of McCall, ID, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 11, 2013 while doing the one thing he loved to do most, hunting. Don was born on April 23, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas to Theron Kirk Nelson and Henrietta Nelson. Don had many disabilities, but he never let that stop him from supporting and loving his wife and family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, a true survivalist and mountain man. He enjoyed passing these traits and lessons onto his children and grandchildren. Tamarack Bay, where he worked, was one of his joys in life. He loved the property and enjoyed the company of the residence. The work was hard and he invested many long days, but was dedicated to making everyone happy.Don was a very charitable man, he was not wealthy but gave everything he had, always serving. He did not waiver in his beliefs. He was not a religious man, but loved Jesus and knew Jesus loved him. His prayers were always for others. As he aged, he seemed rough around the edges, but was always respected for the man he was. He will be missed tremendously. Our void will only be filled when we are reunited. He is survived by his wife Ella Nelson, Roy Nelson, Adam Nelson, Fern King, Edith Flores, Theron Nelson, Sam Nelson, Katrina Barrie, and fourteen grandchildren. There is a celebration of life at Donnelly Bible Church, Friday, October 18, at 4 pm. Following there will be a potluck for family and friends. Don would say as you parted ways, "Have a good one."
