Evelyn Louise Gehrig, 89, of McCall, Idaho, passed away on October 10, 2015 from small cell carcinoma cancer.
A graveside service will be held at the McCall Cemetery, 102 Mission Street, on Wednesday, October 14 at 1:00 pm.  A viewing will be held at Heikkila Funeral Chapel, 155 S. Samson Trail between 10:00-12:00 pm.
Evelyn was born to Charley (Larry) and Etta Williamson on September 17, 1926.  She was raised in the Ada County, Idaho area.  She attended Lady Catherine’s Beauty College in 1944
She married Donal Moore in 1945.  They had three children: Janice, Donna, and Rick.
Evelyn married David Gehrig in 1960 and they also raised his daughter Gail.  They moved to McCall, ID in 1962.  Evelyn started her beautician career at the Yacht Club Beauty Salon and later worked at French’s Beauty Salon.  She later owned and operated Evelyn’s Beauty Salon in Elk City, ID.
Evelyn loved living in the mountains and enjoyed family fishing trips to Lake Cascade, Goose Lake, and Brownlee Reservoir.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens.  Her main passion in life was cooking and baking for her family and friends.  She loved surrounding herself with people.  If there was a pinochle game you can bet she was there.  She also belonged to a bunco group that played every month.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Janice McIntosh (Bob Wilson) of Nampa, ID and Donna Howland Kimsey (Justin) of Round Mountain, NV, son Rick Moore (Carol) of New Meadows, ID, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren with another expected in November.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charley (Larry) and Etta Williamson, husbands Donal Moore and David Gehrig, stepdaughter Gail McDougal, and son-in-laws Gary Howland, Keith Leedy, Frank Noble and Ernie McIntosh.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
