Lucille Logan of Cascade, Idaho passed away September 28, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Lois Lucille Strauchon Logan was born on July 7, 1951, to George and Lois Strauchon, Cascade Idaho. She joined three sisters who spoiled her accordingly. Lucille had a typical childhood growing up in Cascade and was proud to have attended all 12 years in the Cascade school system. She had three lifelong friends from those years in Randi, Bobbie K and Darlene. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She later moved to Kentucky where the “apple of her eye” daughter Jerimi was born. They spent many hours walking and filling their pockets with rocks and flowers. While in Kentucky Lucille learned the sport of skydiving and accomplished 111 jumps. She never regretted a single one of them. Life moved on and so did Lucille to Tennessee and Indiana where the “light of her life” son Brian was born.
In 1983 Lucille realized how much she needed her family and returned to Cascade. Lucille and the children had many hours of swimming at Zims Hot Springs. There were also lots of sports to be watched as well as many hours of shopping and movies to be enjoyed.
In 1991 she married Gary Logan and they enjoyed 35 years together traveling and camping with best friends Ed and Linda Cimbalik.
Two of her favorite trips were the three months they spent in Alaska and Canada and then the best two weeks ever in Hawaii.
In 2015 Gary and Lucille were blessed to be able to spend winter months in Yuma, Arizona. While in Yuma Lucille discovered auctions and spent many weekends attending auctions with best Yuma friend Eric as well as Angela, Jim and Cindy. Way too much fun was had and way too much money spent.
Lucille had a passion for crafting especially quilting and blessed many with the gift of a quilt. If you would consider it, Lucille would be pleased to have you bring that quilt to her memorial and place it on the pew behind you.
Lucille became a member of Cascade Community Church in 1963 and had an unshakable certainty that God is in control, and everything happens according to His will. Earth is only our temporary home on our way to eternity, and we need God as much on our good days as on our bad.
Lucille had many wonderful friends but there were nine adorable children who stole her heart and whose parents allowed her to “adopt” them as grandchildren. Each held a special place in her heart. Josh, Ben, Zach and best friend (under the age of 20) Graci (Li Yang Logan) McCammon; Micah, Zach, and Karly Williams; and Beth Wegener Schott and Addie Wegener.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marcella Strauchon and Martha Boatman. Lucille is survived by her husband Gary, children Jerimi and Brian, sisters Jane’t (Don) Heavrin and Delores Wheeler, brother-in-law Chuck Boatman, step-children Greg and Jenny Logan, step-grandchildren Lily and Ella Logan and many amazing in-laws.
Lucille asked that instead of memorials you consider performing random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty. Pay it forward.
Lucille’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 1 pm at Cascade Community Church 109 Pine Street in Cascade, Idaho.
