Louise M. Stewart, 86, laid down for a nap at her home in McCall, Idaho on March 25, 2015, and woke up in paradise.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 11th at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in McCall, Idaho.  A Rosary will be held Friday, April 10th, at 7:00pm.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Heikkila Funeral Chapel.
Louise was born December 10, 1928 to Harvey and Irma Blair in Baker City, Oregon. She was one of twelve children in the family.  She attended school at St. Francis Academy at Baker City.
On April 27, 1947 Louise married Joe Stewart and their life together began. They lived in many places including Baker City, Ontario, John Day, Prairie City and finally settling in McCall, Idaho.  In that time they were blessed with 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Louise had a passion for cooking, be it for family get-togethers, friends or church events like the Winter Carnival Spaghetti Feed. But she really loved cooking for her kids, and her “school” kids.  She was known as the Lunch Lady at the McCall-Donnelly Jr. high for many years, but she served far more than just a lunch made with love.  She served support, praise, love, hugs, hope and smiles to everyone that went through her cafeteria.  She was "Mom" to so many.
Louise enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be camping, tending her flower beds or just sitting on her back porch, enjoying a cup of coffee, and watching the hummingbirds.  She was a beautiful seamstress and she loved to crotchet and embroidery.  Many a precious baby wore her embroidery trimmed onesies or slept peacefully wrapped in one of her famous crocheted baby blankets made with love.
She was a cub scout leader, a girl scout leader, a 4-H leader, and a 26 year breast cancer survivor.
Louise's greatest joy was her family.  She raised her children with unconditional love and showed them that with hard work, grace, strength and integrity, all things are possible.  Her grandkids were a very important part of her life.  She made sure that each one felt loved and appreciated, and she had a special bond with each one of them.  Her biggest blessing may have been her great grand kids.  Their unconditional love for her brought her an incredible deep joy to her heart.  She cherished each and every moment spent with her family.
Louise is survived by her children: Tom(Janie), Rainey Jensen, Richard, Shirley(Justin) Florence, and Tracey(Todd) Schaefer,  2 sisters Loretta Cook, and Jeannette Beck and 1 brother, Al Delepierre,  her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son-in-law Lee Jensen, and brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Mom touched the lives of so many people, and in return, so many people enriched her life.  She will live on in our hearts, through the many wonderful memories we all have.  We are her legacy.  We will be collecting and sharing memories at her celebration of life after services and encourage others to jot down a memory to share.
We will leave you all with one of moms most powerful words of advise.  "When in need or at a lost, say 3 Hail Mary's, and all will turn out right."
We love you mom.
