Onamae (Scrogham) Zumwalt

OnaMae Zumwalt, 83, of Cascade, died February 4, 2025 in McCall Rehabilitation and Care Center.

OnaMae was born May 27, 1941 on the Shaw Family Homestead in McCall, Idaho to Oscar M. and Lilllian Hazel (Lockhart) Scrogham. Her family extends back to the Shaw and Lockhart families. She grew up in McCall and graduated in 1959. As a child she dkied and loved to swim, and she spent time with her maternal grandparents on the Locksaw. She enjoyed softball and family gatherings and picnics. In 1975 OnaMae made her most important decision. After study of the Bible with Jehovah's Witness, she dedicated herself to Jehovah, symbolizing with public baptism.

OnaMae worked as a cook, in-home caretaker/cleaning and at Lake Cascade State Park as Reception/Visitor Greeter. She retired from the latter at 78 years, having served 20 years. She leaves a hole in our lives as big as her smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, brother Rex Scrogham, son Jeffrey Lee Roberson.

She is survived by two sons Dale Eugene and Rex Sterling Cadenhead; sister-in-law Colleen Scrogham; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.

Private inurnment will be in the McCall Cemetery. A Memorial Service held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 210 Hewitt St., McCall, ID 83638 at 2 p.m., May 24, 2025 and a potluck dinner will follow in the Meadows Valley Community Center, 102 Peterson Memorial Ave., New Meadows, ID 83654.
