Obituary

Barbara Ann Loomis, 79, of Donnelly passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior at her home in Donnelly, November 9th, 2021.  Barbara never met a stranger. She had a sweet, loving smile and spirit which will be in our memories forever.  Barbara was born September 20th, 1942 in Emmett, Idaho to Kenneth and Emily (Porter) Leach.  About the age of 5 they moved to Roseberry with her two older brothers Edward and Robert.  Barbara graduated from Donnelly-McCall High School in 1960.  Barbara married the love of her life, Myron Loomis on July 1st, 1961, from this marriage came three children, Alyce, Frank and Myron (Dale Jr.). Barbara and Myron were married for 51 years before Myron’s death in 2013.  Barbara and Myron ranched in Donnelly.  Barbara took care of milking the cows.  She helped to support the family with the sale of milk, cream and butter.  She would make 15-20 lbs a week.  She was queen in the kitchen, taking care of the family and always making big meals for the ranch crew or anyone that stopped by.  Her door was always open for coffee.  A friend told me, “She made the most awesome biscuits that were ever made with human hands.”  Barbara enjoyed canning and making jams and jellies.  She liked to go fishing and huckleberry picking.  She would bring a picnic for everyone to enjoy.  Barbara always had a puppy or 2 or 3 for companionship. She enjoyed her “wowow’s” (chihuahuas) as her grandson Wyatt would call them.  In her later years she enjoyed crocheting, making Bible bags, checker potholders, baby blankets and winter hats. “Her crocheted hats are warming the heads and hearts of the Donnelly kids,” said a close friend.  If she hadn’t given you one of her creations, I’m sure you know someone who has.  She had a very giving heart.  She loved her faithful friend Sue and looked forward to their weekly trip to shop and have lunch.  Barbara was proceeded in death by her husband Myron, her parents Kenneth and Emily Leach, her two Brothers Edward and Robert and one sister, Ida, who died at birth.  She is survived by her children Alyce (Darrell) Kelley, Frank Loomis, Dale (Monica) Loomis, daughter-in-law Christy Pappas. Grandchildren Robert and Tyrel Bean, Dustin and Mathew Loomis, Wyatt Loomis, Monique, Chrystal and Megan Porter and four Great Grandchildren with the fifth one being due in May, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Barbara will be greatly missed but we know she’s in a better place and she’s together again with Myron.  Services will be on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Donnelly Bible Church.  Dinner to follow.
