BETH LOUISE BENGOECHEA
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, Beth Louise Bengoechea, age 94 of Cascade, Idaho passed away peacefully of natural causes at Edgewood Spring Creek Overland, Boise Idaho.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Margaret Cemetery, Cascade. Casual attire. Arrangements are under the direction of McCall Funeral Home.
A native Idahoan, Beth was born in Wendell on May 13, 1929. She grew up there on a small farm, attended Wendell schools, participating in cheerleading, fast pitch softball, half-court basketball; she graduated as the Valedictorian of her class, in May 1947.
In 1956 she and her family moved to Cascade. Beth was a full-time homemaker until 1960 when she was hired to work as a legal secretary for Bob Remaklus Law Office; 34 ½ years later she retired.
Beth served as Cascade City Clerk from 1971-1973, as the Valley County Republican Committee chairwoman for ten years, and as president/secretary of the service organizations, Lioness & amp; Jaycees, for several years. Two of Beth’s favorite past times were bowling and golf. She bowled in the women’s bowling league for 30 years and enjoyed playing golf until 2016. Often
times Beth rose at 6 a.m. to tidy up her family home, prepare breakfast, then dash to the golf course to play 9-holes before reporting to work at 8:00.
Beth will be lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Jackie Terry (Bill) children Karma (Sheldon) Clearfield, UT, Taylor (Bill) Chester, MD, Gordon, Janice (Sam) and Carolyn (Stephen) Cascade; her 16 grandchildren, Jeri Dawn, Stacey, Eric, Marin, Brian, Brent, Cheryl, Gina, JJ, Nate, Sarah, Erin, Kara, Amber, Tony, Shiloh, her 65 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren with one on the way. Her husband Albert, parents, three brothers, three sisters, three children (Bill, Marsha and Anita) and one grandchild (Steve Beitler) preceded her in death.
The family thanks Spring Creek Overland and Keystone Hospice for their compassionate care of our sweet/feisty mom.
