Claus White

Claus White, 94, of New Meadows, ID, passed away on Jan. 3, 2022 of natural causes. No services will be held at his request.

Claus was born in Bergen, Norway on Nov. 12, 1927. He came to the U. S. when he was 6 months old. He was the oldest of 6 children. He grew up in logging camps including, Cabarton & McGregor, eventually settling in New Meadows, ID. He quit school at the age of 16 to work on a ranch for Tom Carr until being drafted in 1946. He spent time in the U.S. Army where he became a paratrooper due to the $50.00/month extra. He married Darlene Carr in 1954 and has been married for 68 years. After the Army he went to work for J. I. Morgan, Inc. where he spent 40+ years in the Logging & Road Construction business, eventually becoming part owner in the company. Upon his retirement, he purchased a ranch in the valley and enjoyed taking care of the fencing, irrigation, weed control and all the other duties of managing the property.

He is survived by his spouse Darlene; children, Claus Jr. & Paula, Kyle & Tabatha, Kayrene Brown & Johnny; grandchildren Terra (Joey) Estrada, Mandi (Ashley) White, Paul (Tif) Hendrix, Courtney (Justin) White, Clayton CW (Marina) White, Corbin (Rebekah) White, Kandis (Gergo) Baldauf, Levi White, Johnny (Tracy) Brown III, Melody (Ivan) Brown, Hunter Claus Brown & numerous great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, siblings, son Clayton White, grandchildren Chad Hendrix and Rita Hendrix.
