Lois Poxleitner Obituary

Lois Elaine Poxleitner, 73, of Boise and McCall, Idaho, died peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on August 2, 2022 in McCall.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 11:30 AM August 9, 2022, followed by burial in the McCall Cemetery.

Lois was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on April 3, 1949, to Roger and Dorothy (Guidinger) Seaquist, the youngest of five children. The family later moved to Vale, Oregon, and on to Milton-Freewater, Oregon, where she graduated from MacLaughlin Senior High School in Milton-Freewater in 1967.

Lois married Vincent Poxleitner Jr. on April 18, 1970. Their 52-year marriage was filled with love, adventure, and laughter. They raised two children, Jeremy and Marianne.

Lois and Vince made a home in Boise, Idaho, but were fortunate enough to live temporarily in locations around the United States as well as in Iran, Grenada, and Egypt.  She was a dedicated wife and mother, selflessly sharing her time and love with her family and community. In between volunteering at the PTA and the church, she found time to attend classes at Boise State University. Later, she had a fulfilling career as a court clerk, legal secretary, and paralegal.

Lois was a voracious reader, accomplished quilter, and loved outdoor activities, including all kinds of skiing, bicycling, and trips to the beach, and camping with her family. Her laughter was infectious and will be missed by all who loved her.

Lois is survived by her husband, Vince; daughter, Marianne; son Jeremy and his wife Diane; grandsons, Alexander and Isaac; brothers, Larry Seaquist, Paul Seaquist, and Byron Seaquist; and sister Joanne Adams.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Dorothy Seaquist.
