Ricky "Rick" Morrison Obituary

Ricky “Rick” Ray Morrison, 81, of McCall, Idaho, died October 29, 2020 in Boise, Idaho, with his beloved wife Jonie at his side.  Rick was born in Santa Monica, CA, November 7, 1938 to Jennie Morrison Zeimann and Carl Zeimann.

Rick graduated from Yankton, SD in 1956 as an Honor Student with emphasis in basketball, football and track.  He then attended the University of South Dakota, in Vermillion, SD and graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine and a minor in Business.  Rick then joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he became an officer.

In 1961, Rick married Joyce Rodgers.  They had two sons, Todd Morrison of Stirling City, CA and Troy Morrison (Christa) and daughter Carson (very special granddaughter) of Prairie du Chien, WI.  Rick is also survived by his sisters Ann Morrison Halverson and Angie Mary Morrison Roycroft; nephew Jon Halverson and niece Julie Halverson of West St. Paul, MN.

Rick later moved to Sacramento, CA where he was a Senior Vice President in the banking business, and later became President.  Rick was involved with Rotary and Exchange Club where he served as President.  He also spent many hours assisting at the Poverello House and feeding station.

After retirement, Rick and Jonie enjoyed a life-long dream of having a small ranch where they had horses, cattle and lots of pets.  Mostly, however, they enjoyed their many friends and joined a church where they became heavily involved.  Rick led a Men’s Bible Study Group and became a Trustee.

In 2009, Rick and Jonie moved to McCall, ID.  They joined their beloved Elk Creek Church where they became very involved and formed many friends.  Rick was a member of the American Legion Post 119 of McCall, where he served as Post Commander.  Rick also joined Rotary where he was active in their programs and became a Paul Harris Fellow.

A Celebration of Rick’s life will be held at Elk Creek Church in McCall, in the Spring of 2021.  Rick was a wonderful man, kind, decent and he loved God.  He was the love of Jonie’s life, and she will miss him terribly.
