Rita Naomi Hendrix

Rita Naomi Hendrix, passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 30, 2021 with her mom and brother, Paul, by her side.   Rita was born on Feb 28, 1978 in McCall, Idaho to Paula (Meckel) and Charles Hendrix.  She was the oldest of three siblings, followed in birth by her brothers Paul and Chad respectively.

She joined McCall Judo Club when she was 10 and qualified/placed at the Junior Olympics in 1991.  She attended high school in McCall, ID at MDHS where she excelled at a variety of athletics and activities.  Besides spending time with family and friends, Rita had a passion for music, outdoor sports, concerts, and above all, animals. She had a great sense of humor, loving personality and touched many lives with her unconditional generosity. She enjoyed learning new things and never let anyone tell her there was something she couldn’t do. 

Rita was always proud of her ability and certification to drive semi-truck/trailers. She enjoyed her time with Ikola Logging and the many friends she made along the way.  She also loved her time with CCS in McCall where she worked as an assistant manager. 

In 2007, she gave birth to Jake Hendrix; the most important person in her life. He was her son but also her best friend. She often referred to Jake as her ‘purpose in life’ and her zest for adventure and love for others will live on in him. 

Rita is survived by her son, Jake; mother, Paula (husband Claus); her brother, Paul (wife Tiffany); her sisters, Courtney (husband Justin), Terra (husband Joey), Mandi White; and many beloved aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and nieces/nephews.  

Rita was preceded in death by her father, Charles Hendrix; brother, Chad Hendrix; grandparents, Paul & Iris Meckel; and grandfather, Charlie Hendrix. 

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 in McCall Cemetery, McCall, Idaho.
