Dearest Bruce & Barb Gestrin,
Expressing my sincere sympathy to YOU both as I just learned of Dorothy'passing earlier this month! I only met her a couple of times, while employed at the West Ada School District and of course my special "Friendship"with you. I loved hearing funny stories about her old fashion way of life...but also of the love & admiration you shared with me! Please know of my concern and true love at this sad time in life.  My Best to you Bruce & Barb! God Bless---

Dorothy allowed the Ireland family the use of her lake property for our annual family camping trip several years ago Agood time was had by all.  It was so nice visiting with her and reliving old times. To know her was to love her.  Her passing is completely unexpected.  Condolences to her close family whom she treasured greatly

We just returned from a trip from Seattle and were shocked and saddened to hear the news regarding Dorothy.  We have so many kind memories of her over the years.  In addition to being family, she has been a dear friend and so kind to our "Lake" family as she hosted our family reunions there on her lake front lot and those times that created memories none of us will ever forget.  Her family is in our thoughts and prayers.  Only God can fill the void left behind and we pray it is filled with His Love and Peace.  So sorry we missed the service.  God's blessings to you all....

She was aunt Dorothy to us when she married my uncle Guy Ireland. After he passed, she always continued to be Aunt Dorothy. She was always kind and gracious and heaven gained a beautiful soul who waited a long time to meet the Lord in person. God bless you Aunt Dorothy.            Scheline

To the Family of Francis and Dorothy Gestrin,
It is with sadness that we send condolences to the Gestrin Family in the loss of your Mother.
If it were not for Francis and Dorthy's generous donation of the easement on SISCRA Road our beautiful campground would not have happened.  We are so proud to have known your Mother and Father and we feel your sorrow.

Our condolences to Terry, Bruce, Linda, Elsie and family.  Many happy memories of Aunt Dorothy and family over the years.  Terry and I are cousins but close like brothers.  When growing up Dorothy would make me feel at home and I spent many happy hours playing at their house with Terry.  Dorothy's cooking was out of this world and there was always plenty to eat.  Dorothy and Francis would take me with their family skiing at the McCall Ski Hill. Sometimes I pull one of those happy memories from my memory bank and smile.  Dorothy was a big encouragement to my wife Linda when Linda worked at the Val Bois Information Center.  Dorothy would stop in from time to time to check on Linda.  I think Dorothy was the Mayor during that period of time.  Since moving to Florida we didn't get to see friends and family as much, but when we did get back to Idaho on one occasion, we sopped to hug Dorothy's neck.  Dorothy was out behind the house with a chain saw cutting up a tree, "Wow". She stopped what she was doing and invited us in an insisted on feeding us.  She cooked some trout and in a few minutes we were enjoying a meal fit for royalty. I still think about that from time to time and it makes me smile.  The memories of Aunt Dorothy and the good times growing up are too many to cover here.  We can have comfort in knowing we will see here again some day when we get to heaven.  Dorothy is up there right now with her Heavenly Father and visiting with all the friends and relatives that have gone before her.  We love you Aunt Dorothy.

I have known Dorothy my whole life. She taught me to ski when I was in grade school and her daughters were my babysitters. In our small community it was a reality that" it takes a village" and she was part of the village that raised me. I know she is safely in the arms of Jesus! We will miss her, but we do not grieve as those who have no hope. Love to all the Gestrins.

Terry,Bruce Linda and Elsie
My deepest condolences.
Your mom was one of the hardest working most honest women I have ever met.
I loved stopping by her house for coffee in the morning and if I was really lucky there would be some Fresh Fin bread.
I will truly miss her.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  I know she was having medical issues lately but didn't expect her to pass away so quickly.  She was a wonderful woman and it was an honor to have known her.
